People often ask "Why are the old timers gone from OH?"...Why do people not stay here years later? Look in the mirror, some of you. I am in the exception-I am still here-all these years later-because I look past the ignorant actions of a few, and try to look past their insecure behavior.
I've shied back and if I have to worry about others then it might be about time to move on......I love many here and consider them family. I don't like the chatter from those that feel we OWE you anything.
I want to talk to those I feel more connected with not just about WLS issues but about life.

You made me giggle out loud with your "Love (most of) you guys." That is how I feel about MANY on here.
I dont even log on here everyday like I used to so I am CLUELESS as to what "drama" there is now. And frankly I don't care. Im too busy enjoying RL. Peeps need to stop carrying their feelings on their shoulders, but I guess SOME will never learn.

Good grief! When I read your post on fb last night I wanted to reply, but had little time to do so. I'd rather make it public anyways so here it is- for what it's worth.....
Last year when we were training for the upcoming marathon I got lots of grief from people firsthand (mostly secondhand) about how they were excluded. The entire invite had been posted ONLINE and the weekend long-distance runs were posted here as well. Did that stop the whining?! NOPE! We were called all sorts of foul things in front of us and behind our backs. It was absolutely the most immature thing I have encountered since about 2nd grade, especially since the very people doing the MOST complaining were the ones who never met up anywhere on a track.
I think that the most important thing to remember is: WLS only gives us a common thread but that doesn't make us instantaneous friends. Friendships are relationships that have to be cultivated. That takes TWO. Just because two people have had WLS doesn't make them compatible. I do truly try to love everyone for who they are. Some people make this harder than others. Just because I respect you as a person doesn't necessarily mean that I want to hang out with you though. If I have to 'work" at being your friend and it is taxing then I don't see a need to go out of my way to continue to cultivate that relationship. The VERY people who do the most whining are the ones who are usually the most taxing. I don't need that.
I'm sorry the club is being disbanded. I'm sorry that people feel excluded. We've all been there- it's usually nothing personal. Or maybe it is- and you know- that's OK too, because with or without a "club" a fb invite, an invite to a run, a party, a road trip, lunch with the girls, shopping with "the mean girls' etc etc we ALL have different interests, we all are over adolescence (age wise), we all have the right to choose who we want in our lives. Ten years from now nobody will remember WHAT you said- they will remember HOW you made them FEEL. If your goal in life is to be miserable and you want to share and pass that along to others- I don't want to carry the torch with you and most likely nobody else does either.

DIDN'T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT THIS GROUP ...AND WELL - IT DOESN'T MATTER........I know that there are special bonds between alot of people on the OH boards BEHIND the scene and away from OH...............I get that.........I'm grateful that you all have that.........but alot of you have been on here for years and years and (YEARS) !! lol - just kidding.....
I get so upset when I have to see and/or read stuff like this...........We can do what we want to do................Outside of OH is OUR LIVES !! I wasn't a part of this group - but then again.........I'M NOT A PART OF ANY GROUP RIGHT NOW !!
Just because someone is "organizing" a large group - doesnt' mean that she is our "trvael" agent and that she is coordinating our every step of 5 days....people - come on......WE ARE ADULTS HERE !!

Well...I'm not of the long timers...yet... I've never heard of the MGC and actually could care less! When I first read Steph's OP all I could think was 'How high school can ya get?' Good Lord, I'm just thankful all of you have each other to depend on. Am I jealous? Hell yes! I'd give anything to have that kind of a circle around me here around Houston but that doesn't mean I can't be glad for all of you who do have it.
